A hockey player from Lahti, Erkki Laine played in the forward position and had an extensive career in Finland and abroad. As a tribute to his outstanding career, a statue was commissioned from Estonian artist Bruno Kadak. The work was unveiled in front of the Isku Arena in 2017, when Laine, who died prematurely, would have turned 60. The statue is said to be the first public sculpture in Finland with a hockey theme.
