Roberto Ciredz

2017

Mural

Organised since 2017, the UPEA urban art festival has produced murals for numerous locations in Finland. Lahti received two of them in 2017. One is a work by Italian artist Roberto Ciredz, painted on the wall of the building at Saimaankatu 64.

Ciredz’s blue-toned mural is abstract in style, and yet it can also be seen as containing landscape elements, such as mountains on the far horizon, storm clouds or waves. The colour scheme of the work is a uniform blue, which becomes gradually fainter as it progresses from street level towards the upper floors and sky. The low-key work conveys a mood of peacefulness.
