The Lahti International Poster Triennial celebrates its 50th anniversary – Registrations open from August 1 to November 30, 2024
Registrations for the Lahti International Poster Triennial open on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Please register via the Lahti City Museums online store between August 1 and November 30, 2024.
The upcoming Lahti International Poster Triennial will be held at the Lahti Museum of Visual Arts Malva in the summer of 2025, which will mark the event’s 50th jubilee. The poster triennial is the world’s second oldest competition and exhibition in the field of graphic design. The world-renowned triennial has been held in Lahti since 1975.

Registrations open on August 1, 2024. Contestants are requested to register via the Lahti City Museums online store. All posters are to be submitted in digital format between August 1 and November 30, 2024 4.00 pm CET. All submitted entries must post-date January 1, 2022. The posters to be featured in the exhibition will be selected by a competition committee consisting of Finnish graphic design professionals. The members of the committee are Ilona Ilottu, Ilkka Kärkkäinen, Marina Veziko and Jutta Kivilompolo. Malva is represented on the committee by Collections Curator Hanna Suihko, who is also the Secretary General of the poster triennial.
Prizes will be awarded to posters representing high standards of excellence in graphic design, originality, visual appeal and communicative impact. The main prize is the Grand Prix valued at €5,000. The prize-winning posters will be selected by an international jury of graphic designers.
Competition categories
There are three categories in the 2025 Lahti International Poster Triennial:
A Cultural posters, social and ideological posters
B Environmental posters
C Freedom of expression
