A sand animation performance for the whole family about the home forest of the bear family. Mother bear and cub live happily in the forest until their home forest is cut down. The bears are helpless and sad until a little butterfly comes to the bears' aid.

Mother bear and cub live happily in the forest until their home forest is cut down. The bears are helpless and sad until a little butterfly comes to the bears’ aid.

In sand animation, the artist draws pictures with sand on a light table. The artist creates images by moving, adding, removing or sprinkling sand. The pictures make up the story, the audience watches the performance on the big screen. There is no speech in the performance, the background music is made by Ilmari Myllynen. Artist Amadeu Vives presents and tells about the sand animation technique to the audience at the end of the show.

Amadeu Vives was born in Spain in 1978 and graduated as a visual artist from the Valencia University of Applied Sciences in 2008. He has lived in Finland since 2014 and worked with various art forms and productions.

The duration of the show is about 20 minutes. The performance will be held at Malva’s workshop Kumma, There is room for 40 people. The performance is free, participation must be booked in advance through the museum’s online store. Please note that the entrance ticket to the museum must be purchased separately, entry is free for under 18s.
