The event has ended
The Door to the “Ovi Kummaan” opens and the Cellar Gallery transforms into a costume room. Come explore how dressing differently from everyday life and moments of wonder can awaken you. Our guide is the professional wonder player, designer, and visual artist Siiri Ahonen.
Enough with the routine! The gray and ordinary changes to yellow and fluffy, glittering and glamorous, and popping and bubbly.

So, what is it?
Time: September 21, 2024, 6 PM – 9 PM
Place: Malva´s Workshop Space Kumma and Cellar Gallery, Päijänteenkatu 9, E-entrance. Note! Entrance directly from the street.
Age Limit: 18+
You can dress in clothes different from your everyday life, create a character for yourself, and participate in a moment of wonder alone or with a friend.
If you wish, your character can be captured, and you will receive a photo as a keepsake. Please note that the photos will also be displayed to the public in the Basement Gallery after the event.
No skills are needed. In addition to Siiri, Malva’s trained apple worm assistants will be also present.
You can arrive anytime between 6 PM and 8:30 PM. You can come for a moment or stay for the entire time. You can participate or just hang out.
Entrance is free, as usual. Come!
Ovi Kummaan
“Kumma” means quirk = peculiar, unusual, remarkable, weird, exceptional

Ovi Kummaan (“A door to the quirk”) is a low-threshold and slightly strange art space that opens when Malva’s main doors close. Behind the door they mix local, image, sound, light, movement, own, borrowed, made together…
